Andy Robertson’s senior career properly began at Queen’s Park after being released by Celtic as a teenager and joining the Spiders’ youth set-up. With Queen’s Park still an amateur club then, he was effectively playing for expenses while developing into a modern attacking left-back. He made his first-team debut on 28 July 2012 in the Challenge Cup at Berwick Rangers, and he quickly became a regular—34 appearances in 2012–13. That platform earned him a move up to Dundee United in June 2013, kick-starting the rapid rise to the top.
