Eddie Hunter (1943–2025) was synonymous with Queen’s Park as both a one-club player and long-serving coach. A wing-half/centre-back, he made 199 Scottish League appearances for the Spiders between 1964–1974, scoring 25 times. He also represented Scotland Amateurs (15 caps) and made one appearance for Great Britain. Hunter later became Queen’s Park head coach from 1979 to 1994, a 15-year spell highlighted by winning the Second Division title in 1980–81.
