Unai Emery at PSG was a coach of structure, detail, and slightly uneasy fit. He arrived in 2016 after winning three straight Europa Leagues with Sevilla, hired to give PSG more tactical edge in Europe. Domestically, he still won heavily, including the full French domestic quadruple in 2017–18, but his spell is impossible to separate from the Barcelona collapse: the 4–0 in Paris followed by the 6–1 in Spain that scarred the club’s image. He made PSG more coached, but never fully made them feel emotionally secure. So his legacy is successful on paper, yet remembered more for trauma than control.
