Graham Alexander was one of Preston North End’s most reliable modern players. Signed in 2007, the experienced right-back quickly became captain and a key leader during a strong Championship period. Known for consistency, fitness and professionalism, Alexander was also an outstanding penalty taker, scoring regularly despite playing in defence. He helped Preston remain competitive near the play-off places under Alan Irvine and became respected for calm leadership on and off the pitch. Although he later became strongly associated with Burnley as both player and manager, his Deepdale spell remains highly regarded.
