The City Ground is Nottingham Forest’s historic home stadium on the banks of the River Trent in West Bridgford, and Forest have played there since it officially opened on 3 September 1898. It’s famous for its tight, traditional feel and for sitting remarkably close to Notts County’s Meadow Lane across the river. The current capacity is about 31,000 (31,042), and the club has been progressing plans to expand it to 45,000+, with longer-term ambitions above 50,000.
