Nottingham Forest won the 1990 League Cup by beating Oldham Athletic 1–0 at Wembley on 29 April 1990, retaining the trophy they’d won the year before. The match was tight and tense, with Forest relying on Clough-era organisation and big-game nerve rather than free-flowing football. The decisive moment came early in the second half when Nigel Jemson scored the only goal, giving Forest the edge in a final short on clear chances. It became Forest’s fourth League Cup and one of the last major highlights of Brian Clough’s later Forest teams.
