James Maddison’s Norwich City spell was short but hugely important for his career. Signed from Coventry in 2016, he broke through properly under Daniel Farke in 2017/18 and became Norwich’s outstanding player in a difficult Championship season. He scored 15 goals in all competitions, finished as the club’s top scorer, and stood out for his set-pieces, creativity and confidence. Norwich finished only 14th, but Maddison’s quality was obvious, earning him a move to Leicester City in 2018. His time at Carrow Road turned him from a promising young player into one of English football’s brightest attacking midfielders.
