Jeremy Goss scored one of Norwich City’s most iconic goals on 19 October 1993, helping the Canaries achieve a famous 2–1 UEFA Cup victory over Bayern Munich at the Olympiastadion; with Norwich already leading through Mark Bowen, Goss produced a spectacular first-time volley from outside the penalty area that flew beyond goalkeeper Raimond Aumann, giving Mike Walker’s side a two-goal advantage; Bayern pulled one back, but Norwich held on to become the first English club to beat Bayern Munich at the Olympiastadion, and after a 1–1 draw at Carrow Road they progressed 3–2 on aggregate, with Goss’s stunning volley becoming an enduring symbol of Norwich’s memorable European adventure.
