Kyle Lafferty (born 1987) was Northern Ireland’s main modern-era No. 9: a powerful, direct centre-forward who led the line, attacked crosses, and gave the team an outlet for quick transitions. He won 89 caps and scored 20 goals for Northern Ireland (2006–2022), making him the nation’s second-highest men’s goalscorer behind David Healy. Lafferty’s goals were important in the run-up to Euro 2016, and he was part of the squad at the finals in France.
