Kevin Keegan is one of Newcastle United’s defining figures as both a player and a manager. As a player (1982–84), he arrived as a superstar, lifted the whole club, and helped drive promotion back to the top flight in 1983–84, becoming a symbol of ambition on Tyneside. As manager (1992–97), he rescued Newcastle from the second tier, won promotion in 1992–93, then built “The Entertainers” – a thrilling, attacking side. They finished 2nd in 1995–96 after leading the title race, and Keegan’s passionate era remains iconic.
