The 1990–91 Scottish Cup was a historic triumph for Motherwell. In the final at Hampden Park on 18 May 1991, Motherwell defeated Dundee United 4–3 after extra time in one of the most thrilling finals in the competition’s history. Goals came from Iain Ferguson, Phil O’Donnell, Ian Angus and Stevie Kirk, while United fought back twice to level before extra time. The match was dubbed the “Brothers Final” because the managers were brothers Tommy McLean (Motherwell) and Jim McLean (Dundee United). The victory gave Motherwell their second Scottish Cup, ending a long wait since 1952.
