Dennis Wise’s Millwall story is mainly about leadership and a cup run that felt bigger than the club’s league position. He joined as a player in 2002, became player-manager in November 2003, and led Millwall to the 2004 FA Cup final — the club’s first ever appearance there. They lost 3–0 to Manchester United, but the run also earned Millwall a UEFA Cup place because United had already qualified for the Champions League. Wise stayed through 2004/05, when Millwall finished 10th in the Championship, then resigned in May 2005 after a change in ownership.
