Louis Saha at Manchester United (2004–2008) was a striker of brilliant flashes and constant frustration. When fit, he was explosive: quick off the mark, powerful running, tidy link-up play, and a clean finisher with either foot—ideal for combining with Rooney and Ronaldo. He was especially useful in rotation because he could stretch defences and bully centre-backs. The problem was availability: recurring injuries stopped him ever nailing down a long, dominant run as United’s No.9. Even so, he won major honours, including two Premier League titles and the 2008 Champions League, before moving on to Everton.
