Mark Hughes at Manchester United (1980–86, 1988–95) was “Sparky”: a relentless, explosive forward who mixed raw power with sharp finishing and a nasty competitive edge. He was brilliant at pressing, attacking crosses, and turning scraps into goals, and he became a massive big-game player. His signature moment is 1991 in Rotterdam, scoring both goals as United beat Barcelona 2–1 to win the European Cup Winners’ Cup—a landmark European triumph for the club. He later added two Premier League titles under Sir Alex, leaving as a modern United icon.
