Nicolás Otamendi’s Man City spell (2015–2020) was loud, physical, and often high-risk/high-reward. Signed from Valencia in August 2015 (reported around £32m), he brought aggression, aerial power, and a front-foot defending style that fit City’s push to dominate territory. Under Guardiola he enjoyed his best run in 2017–18, earning a place in the PFA Team of the Year as City hit title-winning form. He left with two Premier League titles plus domestic cups, and made 136 league appearances (8 goals) for City.
