Vincent Kompany’s Man City era (2008–2019) is basically the club’s modern foundation: elite defending, leadership, and clutch moments. He became captain for 2011–12 and led City to their first league title in 44 years, then helped anchor the Guardiola transition later on. He finished with 360 appearances and 4 Premier League titles plus domestic cups. His defining flashpoints include the derby header vs United in 2012 and the ridiculous long-range winner vs Leicester (6 May 2019) that pushed City to the title.
