Ryan McGowan joined Livingston in July 2024, signing a two-year deal and taking squad No. 5. The experienced Australian defender quickly became a mainstay at the back and a dressing-room leader. A standout moment came in the Scottish Cup win over Cove Rangers in February 2025, when he scored as Livi won 3–0. That season he helped Livi lift the SPFL Trust Trophy with a 5–0 final win over Queen’s Park, and was named in the PFA Scotland Championship Team of the Year.
