Livingston’s greatest day came in the 2003–04 Scottish League Cup (CIS Cup). David Hay’s side reached Hampden despite entering administration weeks earlier. In the final on 14 March 2004, they beat Hibernian 2–0 in front of 45,500, with Derek Lilley opening the scoring and Jamie McAllister quickly adding a second; captain Stuart Lovell was man of the match. The win delivered Livi’s first major trophy and a rare non-Old Firm triumph in Scotland. They booked the final with a tense semi-final win over Dundee, sealed by Lilley’s late penalty. It remains a defining chapter in the club’s Lothian rise story.
