Efe Ambrose joined Livingston on 18 February 2020, signing an 18-month contract under Gary Holt and taking the No. 25 shirt. He arrived as a seasoned centre-back (ex Celtic and Hibs) to add experience for the run-in, and went straight into contention to face Hibs that weekend. In total, Ambrose made 25 appearances for Livi (mostly in the 2020–21 campaign), providing depth and know-how in the back line rather than goals.
