Livingston’s 2001–02 campaign was their debut in the Scottish Premier League, and it became the club’s greatest league season. Under Jim Leishman, Livi finished 3rd on 58 points (16 wins), behind Celtic and Rangers, earning a UEFA Cup place. They were tough early on, including 0–0 draws with both Old Firm sides, and Almondvale became a difficult trip. Cup runs were shorter: they reached the League Cup quarter-final and exited the Scottish Cup in round four (Aberdeen). Barry Wilson was top scorer with 11 in all competitions, while Wilson and Rubio shared the league lead on eight. It remains iconic.
