Ian Rush is Liverpool’s all-time leading goalscorer and the ultimate penalty-box killer. He had two spells at the club (1980–1987, 1988–1996) and racked up 346 goals in all competitions. Rush was lethal because of his movement: always peeling off shoulders, attacking near-post space, and finishing quickly with either foot. He thrived in the dominant 80s sides, linking brilliantly with Kenny Dalglish and later John Aldridge, and he delivered in big finals—most famously two goals in the 1986 FA Cup final vs Everton. Relentless, clinical, and built for Liverpool’s intensity.
