Steve McManaman at Liverpool (1990–1999) was pure Anfield swagger: a winger who dribbled like he was playing in the park, gliding past tackles with close control and sudden bursts. Usually starting from the right (often drifting inside), he carried the ball through midfield, created chances with clever slips and crosses, and gave Liverpool an unpredictable edge in the 90s. He formed a key attacking core with Fowler and later Owen, and was twice voted PFA Team of the Year. The big frustration was the lack of major trophies in that era—just the 1995 League Cup—before he left on a free to Real Madrid in 1999.
