Charlie Adam’s Liverpool spell (2011–2012) was short and never really clicked. Signed from Blackpool after a standout Premier League season, he arrived with a reputation for long-range passing, set-piece delivery, and shooting from distance. In a Liverpool side trying to play higher tempo and press more aggressively, his lack of pace and mobility was exposed, and he struggled to impose himself consistently. He did have flashes—some smart diagonals and decent dead balls—but he couldn’t nail down a role as the midfield evolved. After one season he was sold to Stoke City, becoming a classic “good player, wrong fit” signing.
