Kasper Schmeichel was one of Leicester City’s most important modern players and the bedrock of their greatest era. Signed in 2011, he became the club’s first-choice goalkeeper for more than a decade and made 479 competitive appearances for Leicester, one of the highest totals in their history. He helped them win the Championship in 2014, the Premier League in 2016, and the FA Cup and Community Shield in 2021. More than the honours, Schmeichel gave Leicester authority, leadership, and big-match reliability. In the title-winning side he was the defensive foundation, and over time he grew into one of the club’s clearest modern legends.
