Mark Viduka was Leeds United’s big, brilliant No.9 in the early 2000s. Signed from Celtic in 2000, he combined target-man strength with surprisingly soft feet and sharp finishing, becoming Leeds’ main scorer during a turbulent period that swung from Champions League nights to relegation scraps. His defining Leeds moment is iconic: four goals in a 4–3 win over Liverpool at Elland Road in November 2000. He also delivered in key survival moments, most famously scoring the late winner at Arsenal in May 2003 that all but kept Leeds up. He left in 2004 as the club’s finances unraveled.
