Lucas Radebe is one of Leeds United’s most loved modern legends. Signed from Kaizer Chiefs in 1994, the South African centre-back became a mainstay for over a decade, making 250+ league appearances and captaining the club. Calm, brave, and hugely respected, “The Chief” was central to Leeds’ best Premier League-era sides—especially the late-90s/early-2000s team that pushed near the top and reached the 2001 Champions League semi-finals. His leadership and personality made him a fan favourite, and he’s still strongly associated with Elland Road’s identity and pride.
