Éric Cantona’s time at Leeds United was brief (1992) but massively consequential. Signed from France in February, he brought flair and edge to a side chasing the title. Used as a forward/second striker, he added creativity between the lines and helped Leeds keep momentum to win the 1991–92 First Division—the last top-flight title before the Premier League era began. The fit didn’t last into the new Premier League season: form dipped, he clashed with aspects of the setup, and Leeds cashed in. In November 1992 they sold him to Manchester United—a transfer that reshaped English football for the next decade.
