Jack Charlton was one of Leeds United’s greatest-ever defenders and a true one-club legend, spending his entire playing career at Elland Road from 1952 to 1973 and making a club-record 773 appearances; nicknamed “Big Jack”, he was a dominant centre-back known for his strength, aerial ability and leadership, playing a major role in Don Revie’s hugely successful side that won the First Division title, FA Cup, League Cup and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups, while Charlton also enjoyed major international success with England, earning 35 caps and helping his country win the 1966 World Cup, cementing his place as a Leeds and English football icon.
