Steve Paterson managed Inverness Caledonian Thistle from 1995 to 2002 and is credited with laying the foundations of the club’s rise through the Scottish leagues. Taking charge soon after Inverness’s formation in 1994, he built a side known for attacking football and spirit, earning promotion to the First Division in 1999. Under Paterson, ICT famously beat Celtic 3–1 at Parkhead in the 2000 Scottish Cup, producing the “Super Caley go ballistic” headline. He developed key players like Barry Wilson, Charlie Christie, and Dennis Wyness before departing for Aberdeen in late 2002.
