Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s 3–1 win over Celtic at Parkhead (Celtic Park) is one of the Scottish Cup’s all-time shocks. It was a 1999–2000 Scottish Cup third-round tie played on 8 February 2000 in Glasgow, with 34,389 in attendance. Inverness (then outside the top flight) went ahead through Barry Wilson (16'), Celtic replied immediately via Mark Burchill (17'), but Inverness led again when Ľubomír Moravčík deflected into his own net (24'). Paul Sheerin’s penalty (57') sealed it. The aftermath was huge: the result spawned the famous “Super Caley go ballistic, Celtic are atrocious” headline and John Barnes was sacked shortly after.
