Adam Rooney joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2008 from Stoke City and quickly became a prolific striker and fan favourite. Across three seasons (2008–2011) he scored 53 goals in 119 appearances, leading the line with sharp movement and composed finishing. His standout campaign was 2009–10, when he netted 24 goals and finished as the Scottish First Division’s top scorer, helping Inverness win promotion back to the SPL. Rooney’s consistent output and work rate made him one of the club’s most effective modern forwards before he left for Birmingham City in 2011.
