Brehme at Inter was precision, intelligence, and authority from full-back. He arrived in 1988 and became a key piece of Giovanni Trapattoni’s great side, helping win the 1988–89 Scudetto, the 1989 Supercoppa Italiana, and the 1990–91 UEFA Cup. What made him special was how complete he was: tactically disciplined, strong defensively, dangerous from set pieces, and comfortable on either foot. He was not just a defender who survived games; he influenced them. Inter’s own records credit him with 154 appearances and 12 goals in all competitions, which says plenty for a full-back. Brehme’s Inter legacy is elite reliability with real class.
