Keith Edwards became one of Hull City’s most prolific modern-era strikers across two spells with the Tigers, first joining in 1978 and quickly establishing himself as a natural penalty-box goalscorer; after leaving for Sheffield United in 1981, he returned to Boothferry Park in 1988 and again provided valuable goals, ultimately scoring more than 50 times for Hull across his two periods at the club; sharp in his movement and clinical around goal, Edwards was particularly admired during a difficult period in City’s history, and although his greatest individual scoring exploits came elsewhere, his goals, local popularity and two spells in black and amber ensured his lasting place among the notable Hull City forwards of his generation.
