The 1989–90 season for Hibernian was a steady but unspectacular campaign in the Scottish Premier Division. Managed by Alex Miller, Hibs finished 7th in the league, comfortably clear of relegation but outside the European qualification places. Their cup runs were relatively short, reaching the fifth round of the Scottish Cup and the fourth round of the League Cup, while they exited the UEFA Cup in the early rounds. Although the season lacked major honours, it provided stability and competitive performances during a transitional period for the club at Easter Road.
