Scott Allan was one of Hibernian’s most naturally gifted modern midfielders and a favourite at Easter Road across three spells. He first joined in 2014 and quickly stood out for his vision, close control, and ability to unlock defences, winning the Scottish Championship Player of the Year award in 2014–15. Across all three spells, Hibs say he produced 17 goals and 39 assists in 129 appearances for the club. He was never really about power or pace; his game was built on technique and imagination. Allan also remained admired for dealing openly with type 1 diabetes and later a heart condition during his career.
