Steven Pressley became a hugely influential Hearts captain after joining the club in 1998, making over 250 appearances and providing leadership and consistency at the heart of the defence; nicknamed “Elvis,” he captained Hearts to the 2006 Scottish Cup, scoring in the penalty shootout victory over Gretna, and helped them finish second in the SPL in 2005/06 to secure Champions League qualification, with his passion, durability and commanding performances making him one of the defining Hearts players of that era.
