Allan McGraw is “Mr Morton” — a club-defining figure as both player and manager. He signed for Greenock Morton in 1961, became a prolific forward, and is credited with 140 goals in 176 appearances in his first spell, helping Morton reach the 1963 League Cup final and win the Second Division title in 1964. He later managed Morton from 1985–1997, delivering promotion to the top flight via the First Division title (1987) and then another league triumph with the Second Division title (1994–95). Cappielow’s main stand was named after him.
