Greenock Morton’s only Scottish Cup win came in 1921–22, when they beat Rangers 1–0 in the final at Hampden Park on 15 April 1922. The decisive moment was Jimmy Gourlay’s early strike—widely recorded as a 12th-minute free-kick (some match accounts note it just before/around that mark). The game drew about 75,000 and was refereed by T. Dougray. Morton held firm under heavy pressure to secure the trophy—still their signature cup triumph.
