Michael Halliday was one of Glentoran’s key attacking players of the 2000s. A lifelong Glens supporter, he spent 11 years in the first team from 1999 to 2010, making 468 appearances for the club, which places him in Glentoran’s “250 Club,” and scoring 141 goals in league and cup football. He played as a striker or attacking midfielder and was part of a highly successful spell, helping the Glens win three league titles, two Irish Cups, five League Cups, four County Antrim Shields and a Gold Cup. In simple terms, Halliday mixed loyalty, goals and silverware, making him a major Glentoran figure of that era.
