Paul Leeman was one of Glentoran’s great modern captains. A defender who came through the club and made his senior breakthrough in the mid-1990s, he went on to play 597 times and score 45 goals for the Glens, putting him among their top appearance-makers. During his long spell at the Oval, he won four league titles, four Irish Cups, five League Cups, three Gold Cups and six County Antrim Shields. Glentoran’s own Hall of Fame also notes that he remains the last Glentoran captain to lift the Gibson Cup. In simple terms, Leeman’s legacy is about leadership, longevity, toughness and silverware.
