Galway United’s 2023 season was a promotion campaign built on total control. Managed by John Caulfield, they won the League of Ireland First Division title on 22 September 2023 with a 4–0 win over Kerry, sealing a return to the Premier Division for the first time since 2017. They finished with a record 94 points, scored 98 goals, and won every home league game, which tells you how dominant they were. The season had depth beyond the league too, with Galway reaching the FAI Cup semi-finals and placing six players in the PFAI First Division Team of the Year.
