Gordon Davies is one of Fulham’s greatest-ever players and remains the club’s record goalscorer. Fulham’s official honours and history pages credit him with 178 goals across two spells, and the club timeline says he made 450 appearances before leaving in 1991. He first joined in 1978, scored heavily through the late 1970s and early 1980s, then returned in 1986 and eventually broke Johnny Haynes’ long-standing scoring record in 1989. A Wales international and a huge Craven Cottage favourite, Davies is remembered as a natural finisher and one of the defining Fulham players of the pre-Premier League era.
