Darryl Duffy emerged from Falkirk’s youth system as one of Scotland’s most promising young strikers, becoming a key goalscorer as the Bairns won the 2004/05 First Division title and promotion to the SPL under John Hughes; quick, sharp and a natural finisher, Duffy scored prolifically during his breakthrough seasons at Brockville and the Falkirk Stadium, earning Scotland Under-21 recognition and a move to Hull City in 2005, with his goals during Falkirk’s promotion campaign making him a memorable figure from an important period in the club’s modern history.
