Everton’s 1984 FA Cup win was the first trophy of the Howard Kendall era and a springboard for the mid-80s peak. On 19 May 1984 at Wembley Stadium, they beat Watford 2–0: Andy Gray struck first (a controversial goal) and Graeme Sharp sealed it. Reaching the final was clinched at Highbury when Adrian Heath headed the semi-final winner vs Southampton.
