Paul Gascoigne’s “Dentist’s Chair” celebration at Euro ’96 is one of football’s most iconic moments. After scoring a brilliant goal against Scotland at Wembley, Gazza flicked the ball over defender Colin Hendry and volleyed home to seal a 2–0 win for England. He then lay on the pitch while teammates squirted water into his mouth, recreating the infamous “Dentist’s Chair” drinking game. The celebration mocked tabloid criticism of England players after photos emerged from a pre-tournament night out in Hong Kong. It became a defiant, humorous response to the media and remains a defining image of Euro ’96.
