Jim McIntyre managed Dunfermline Athletic from 2007 to 2012, initially taking over with the club struggling in the First Division before gradually rebuilding them into promotion contenders; his major achievement came in 2010–11, when the Pars won the First Division title and returned to the SPL, playing attractive attacking football along the way; their top-flight return proved difficult, however, and McIntyre left during the 2011–12 relegation campaign.
