On 26 November 2005, bottom club Dunfermline Athletic produced a famous SPL upset, beating Celtic 1–0 at Celtic Park. With Hearts dropping points, Celtic expected to pull clear at the top. Teenager Greg Ross scored in the 17th minute, bundling the ball past Artur Boruc from close range, and the Pars then defended with discipline as Celtic dominated possession but lacked incision. Ross nearly added a second soon after, while Dunfermline’s back line repelled pressure to seal it. The result ended Celtic’s unbeaten home run and sparked celebration among the away support. Attendance was 58,203, with C. MacKay the referee.
