The 1982–83 season was the greatest in the history of Dundee United. Managed by Jim McLean, United won their first and only Scottish league title, finishing ahead of Celtic and Aberdeen with remarkable consistency. Built on defensive organisation, tactical discipline, and belief, the side lost just four league matches. At home in particular, Tannadice was a fortress. The title broke the Old Firm’s dominance and confirmed Dundee United as a genuine force in Scottish football. The 1982–83 campaign remains the defining achievement of the club’s history and a landmark moment for the city of Dundee.
