Jim Goodwin took over Dundee United in March 2023 with the club bottom of the Premiership, initially on a deal to the end of the season. United showed a brief lift but were ultimately relegated, and the club backed him anyway—making him permanent manager in May 2023. That faith paid off: in 2023–24 he led United straight back up as Championship winners with 75 points and was named Championship Manager of the Season. He then extended his deal to at least summer 2026 (Nov 2024) and later agreed a 12-month rolling contract (Sept 2025).
