Dundee FC’s clash with AC Milan in the 1962–63 European Cup semi-final is one of the most famous ties in Scottish football history. Dundee stunned Europe by defeating AC Milan 1–0 at Dens Park in the first leg, with Alan Gilzean scoring the decisive goal in front of a raucous home crowd. Managed by Bob Shankly, Dundee produced a fearless, attacking performance. Although Milan overturned the tie with a 5–1 win in the San Siro, Dundee’s home victory remains a legendary European night and a symbol of the club’s golden era.
